We appointed a structural engineer to undertake a survey and report on the existing structures ability to take an increase in imposed loads of an overroof. A planning supervisor was appointed to prepare the Pre Construction Health and Safety Plan.
The project involved a 2800 Sq. metres over sheet of an existing built up metal roof using Euroclad SF500 secret fix profile in Corus HPS200 Goosewing Grey, incorporating a 100mm thick insulation quilt with a Eurobar spacer system. 300 linear metres of gutters were jet washed and coated with Aquapol Plus solution. Flag UK Ltd Flagon SFc light grey single ply membrane was used to weather 4no. large ventilation ducts to the new roof covering. Stainless steel wire mesh was attached to the existing glazed atrium to act as fall protection both during the construction phase of the project and also for any future gutter cleaning operations. Hip, valley, ridge, side abutment and service penetration details were all carried out in accordance with Euroclads technical specification. The project was undertaken from September to November 2006 taking 10 weeks to complete. |
